Win2003 Eval from Technet DVD in VMWare fails
OK - So I wade through the XP DVD looking for the Boot Config files, but I can only find NTLDR and NTDETECT. There has to be one or two more, surely? Worse, there is absolutely nothing on the XP 64 partition root directory, except some HP *.DLL that belongs to the printer. So, I'm back to square one, more or less.

When you set up the legacy drive you did not have it pointing to the partition with the ntldr file on it. You can add the files where you have it pointed or If you set the XP drive as the boot drive and then boot the system with the Vista dvd you will get variation of the drive lettering (no real problem) and

I can get to windows xppro if I use install cd and go to recovery and fix boot. After I reboot to vista home basic dvd and do repair startup. reboot and get options for both operating systems. Go into vista alright. Reboot and select xppro and gest something about ntldr missing. Tried copying ntldr and ntdetect.com

Did you try and repair your Vista using the repair mode after booting from the DVD? So when I was running the beta, I would get an "ntldr" error message at the very beginning of my bootup, after the bios screen. Presumably it got some missing startup files from the DVD and used them to boot. Yesterday I installed my brand new Windows Vista Ultimate for the first time.

Back to multi-booting the RAID - again. . .
